So are you ready to hear and see more about the tree that decided to play 'invader' in our home during Irene's stay in North Carolina??
Ready. Set. Pictures!
After we heard the tremendous crash,
my daddy rushed upstairs, this being the scene that awaited him....
What a big mess!!
We were following close behind... It smelled of Christmas upstairs, usually this smell is delightful, but in that circumstance, it was sickening. After a few minutes of recovering from the shock of it it all, we quickly grabbed every pot, pan, or form of a container we could find!!
Then, my daddy nailed this huge green tarp on both sides of the wall forming a 'V' shape to catch the water that was seeping through the multiple holes in our roof!! Pretty clever, no?
Here is a picture of what it looked like below...
Check out these enormous holes...
That Saturday was probably one of the longest days of my life!!
But thank God we all came through it safely--that's the most important thing.
Now on to the next morning....
The sunshine was such a beautiful site as I mentioned before!
After waking up, we all headed outside to survey the damage. It was something!
This is what our 'invader' looked like from the outside...
The rest of the tree...
This is the view from our back porch...
When the tree fell on our house, it was so long that it hung off the back of our house 10 to 12 feet!!
All of the limbs from the pine tree covering our back porch....
Leftovers of the pine tree logs and debris....
The stump before it was grounded....
You're just a memory now, Mr. Invader--
{thank goodness!!}

Hope you girlies have a lovely week!
