{Psst...I'm having a Christmas Giveaway!!}

I know at this time of the year, the most wonderful time of the year with parties, whirl & hurry of errands, baking, and to-do lists it is easy to forget....
Forget as we feast on all the tradition & joys of Christmas that there are ones who would be thrilled with just a taste of it.  They need it most.

God put it on my heart to do something different that will make a difference
"The small Babe of Bethlehem, the dismissed Son of God, the stripped and beaten Messiah hanging exposed on the Tree--He begs us to spend the attention of Advent on the little, the least, the lonely, the lost."  -Ann Voskamp, The Greatest Gift pg 5

             On that note, I've planned a surprise!
                       That, my friends, would be...

If you are like me, you'll love any excuse to host/enter giveaways...they  are such fun!

But, this giveaway has a twist to it.  What you do to earn entries is all directed towards reaching out to help the imprisoned children of Uganda.

I owe them a lot. They were the ones who taught me something under the big hot African sun. The beauty of what it is to give Love to someone who is desperately in need of it...starved for affection, a hug, a smile. To be able to sing songs of Hope, whisper words of Jesus and His mighty promises who makes these things possible. It is all intricately wrapped up in who He is...His very nature.  They told me with happy grins that Jesu Okwagala means "I love Jesus" or "Jesus loves me"

Kwagala simply means Love.
But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
                               >>1 John 3:17-18
The very heart of Christianity is serving, giving of our time or resources to places that will spread the Good News of the Gospel. To an orphan or child who has never known love, whose life has been ripped to shreds, it is very hard to begin to tell them about Jesus and His love.  First, you have to demonstrate it.  Love them by caring for their needs as Jesus said to do...

{34}"Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. {35}For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; {36}naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.' {37}"Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? {38}And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? {39}When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' {40}"The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'
{Matthew 25:34-40}

>>This is what SixtyFeet & The Cupcake Kids is all about. They are devoted to Jesus, they love Him greatly, and what they desire above all else is to fulfill this, their guiding verse, & to share the Gospel. And if these little ones ask Jesus into their heart one day...I can barely type the words, it touches my heart so...

"They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes."
{Revelation 7:16-17}

Can you imagine anything better than giving a Christmas gift that helps bring this about?

>>A word about the mason jars...for over a year now, I have filled up my jar with extra change, etc, saving up for opportunities to give towards missions.

Then, I write down the things God has allowed me to accomplish through that money & tape it to the jar.  A beautiful way to see what awesome things He does!!
