Praying for a Heart

In the place my footsteps have fall on red soil in obedience to God's calling, there are two girls my age who have a precious story. One is in need of a heart surgery, the other wants to help this happen for her Ugandan friend. An ocean may separate us, but our common faith unites us. {see Titus 1:4}

Sharon & Carolina

I received an email from Caralina this morning, who noticed the love God has given me for the country by reading The Rebelution and TIO.  She and her family are living in Uganda as missionaries.  It never ceases to amaze me how God orchestrates our lives in unfathomable ways.  I cannot tell you how much it blesses me to be able to write this post.

Caralina asked me to join her in the effort to raise support for her friend, Sharon.  Her blog is filled to the brim with the love she has for Sharon and the desire to see her get well is evident. It brought tears to my eyes when Caralina wrote, I'm so glad I got to meet Sharon yesterday.  It is so good to have a face, a voice, a person to think about as I am working on this project.  Leaving the office yesterday, my mom and I were talking about how much more urgent her situation has become.  The doctors have also told her that she cannot go to school because 'her heart is too weak.'

The word needs to be spread as far as it can go.

“When we lay the soil of our hard lives open to the rain of grace and let joy penetrate our cracked and dry places, let joy soak into our broken skin and deep crevices, life grows.
How can this not be the best thing for the world? For us?”

We are going to trust God move powerfully.  Let's give freely of our prayers, resources...share this story...lift up this situation our God who heals. Be prepared to see His hand at work!

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly
abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works in us,
to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations,
forever and ever. Amen.
