Eighteen Years Ago...

Today is my birthday.  God has blessed me with a full, happy life.  In this post, I'm jotting down some of my thoughts.

Before I came into this world, when I was just a thought in the heart of God, He knew me.  Viewing my frame, still unformed He weaved me, knitted me together in my mother's womb.  The entirety of my days were written in His book long before my first cry.  {see Psalm 139:13-18}

Resting in this truth, I see the heart of God.

My life is not meant for me.  It was given that I may be a vessel, a voice for His purposes.  So that I may reach mankind with His mighty, unfailing love.

I am just one girl.  That is a matter of insignificance since I am one girl serving an awesome God.
He can use one person to reach thousands if only we yield to Him.

The key is surrender.
"He who finds his life will lose it,
and he who loses his life for My sake will find it."
-Matthew 10:39

All I ask humbly, with a heart of faith is this,

God, my heavenly Father, Savior King--

No matter what it may cost me here on earth, have Your way in my life...

That I may have Your strength, courage, and the endurance to fulfill the call You want me to fulfill.

I know when I die my home is in Heaven, in the eternal bliss of being with You.  All tears of mine will be bottled, my pain and sorrow eradicated forever.  What I will know is the fulness of joy in Your presence.

I can pour out my life without fear.  You can too.
Whether I live or whether I die, I do not have to be afraid because my life, my whole being in entirety belongs to Christ and Christ alone. {Romans 14:8} My life is hidden forever with ChristThat is enough. This carries me, lifts my head high in confidence, moves my feet forward.

We are called; I am called to lay down my very life for others. This is an echo of Christ's love. This true love shouts to the world of His beautiful hope. There is not a greater love to be found {John 15:13}. Out of all the chaos, noise, confusion and the strong pull of this world God is the One who counts. Life lived for His glory in the end is all that matters.
