Only 2 weeks until UG!!

Africa is only a couple of weeks away!! I am getting butterflies...excited and a little nervous all at once. I know God is going to do awesome things during this trip.

Going to Africa is one of the hardest things I have had to surrender to Jesus about. It is basically laying myself down at His feet. Every. single. part. of me and saying,
"Yes, Lord. I will go. I trust You for the rest."

The passion He has given me to help the orphans of Uganda is so deep, so strong--it surprises me. It exceeds my natural instinct to protect myself from discomfort or harm. Yes, there are diseases and risks, but my name is written in Heaven. According to Jesus' words in Matthew 5, I am the light of the world. It is my inheritance as His child. That marvelous light must be poured forth and shared.
------
I have spent this week getting clothes together so we can start the process of spraying our clothes. After they dry, we pack them into Ziplocks to protect them against the heavy rains in Uganda.
All of the details are coming together.
We still have around $2,000 to go until we are fully funded. A little nerve wracking with only 2 weeks to go....but I know the Lord has carried us this far and will be faithful to see us through. We are having a car wash fundraiser at the end of the week--looking forward to that!!
Meloni Adams , missionary to Bulgaria, spoke at our ladies' Christmas fellowship last December. At that time I did not know when I would be returning to Uganda, but her words about missions really encouraged my heart. One of the things that really stood out was, "Where God guides, He provides." That has been a blessing to remember lately.

“It may take place in a foreign land or it may take place in your backyard, but I believe that we were each created to change the world for someone. To serve someone. To love someone the way Christ first loved us, to spread His light. This is the dream, and it is possible.” -katie davis majors
